On the Saturday before Mothers Day my oldest sister, Aimee, planned a fun little Mother-Daughter tea party. She Made little tiny heart shaped sandwiches, little dessert strawberry cups, strawberry lemonade, and other little food that we ate on little china tea sets of my mothers that have been given to her by her grandmothers.
These are all of my sisters, and sister-in-laws with the exception of one sister-in-law, Erin, who had to come a little later. Including my mother, sisters, sister-in-laws, and granddaughters, there are 20 girls in our family so far. My sister, Katie and sister-in-law, Lacey just had little girls in April. I'm so glad that we all live close enough to get together often.

Before we started eating, my sister explained to the girls about how to be proper and use good manners. She explained that we take tiny bits chew quietly. My sister and I both laughed when we noticed Oakley trying to fit a huge piece of watermelon into her mouth shortly after.

I LOVE being a mom!!! Having these two little girls has been more fun than I could have ever imagined. I love doing their hair, buying them clothes, picking out and making cute little things to go with their dolls, reading them stories, and exploring life with them. It was so fun to spend time with them on this SPECIAL day for GIRLS.
This is my MOM!! I wanted to get a picture of the two of us together but never did. This is a little late for Mothers Day, but I wanted to dedicate a little bit of space to her. There are many reasons why I love my mom. Besides raising my and my six older siblings, my mother has pretty much dedicated her whole life to serving. She and my dad have been quite the team in the service department. I don't think one day goes by that they haven't done something for someone. From the time I was a little girl I can't count the times that she would send me to someones house to take them something that she had made, the times we cleaned other people's houses or weeded their flower beds. These are just a few of the things to mention.
When I was 12 years old my grandmother passed away, leaving my grandfather. My mother took it upon herself to see that he had dinner every night and that his house was always clean. Her acts of selflessness have been shown to my family several times, especially this last year while I was pregnant with Spencer. My mother came and cleaned my home several times and brought dinner or something to eat every time she stopped by while I was on bed rest She also did all of my canning during the Summer months. I can't even describe the time and work put into that. Following the delivery, after we got home from the hospital, my mom would come by and bring fun things for the girls and I to do together since Spencer was pretty much quarantined to the house for a few months. To everyone else, this may seem like a few small acts of kindness, but to me, some days, they were what helped me get through the day and were so much more meaningful. I'm so glad that my mother has always been there for me and has taught me the things she has. I hope someday I can be able to give as she done. I'm so grateful for such a wonderful mother.
